A study conducted by San Diego State University cites traditional crunches among the least effective abdominal exercises. With summer months around the corner, this finding leaves many with fewer options and little time to determine how to achieve their desired beach body this year.

Sam Asks: I’m 29 years old, 5ft 10in, 172 Lbs. IJust bought Slendertone Abdominal Training System a couple of days ago, and today is my third day using it. I have worked out quite regularly in the last few months, and I am able to maintain my body pretty well with good biceps and chest muscles but don’t have good abs. I try to do 150-200 abs exercises at every workout and didn’t see substantial changes in the abs. Can I still do abs exercise at my regular workout and use slendertone or just depend on slendertone alone for the abs?

Do you recommend me using slendertone in the morning if I workout at the gym in the evening and vice versa? Whats the min and max time I can use Slendertone a day for good results? I saw that we can use it for 30 mins as stated in the ads, is that the max time? Since I work from home, I can use slendertone for more than 30 mins, and even easily for 60 mins if its ok do so.

I am little concerned about the electric impulses numbing my nerve-ends in the abs muscles permanently, is that a valid concern? I am little nervous about longterm impact, I don’t mind stop using it after I get good abs and maintain the abs through regulat abs workout.

Stability Ball 20 minute Workout

Being fit can be quick and easy and it’s never too late to adopt an exercise program to improve your cardiovascular system. Taking as little as 20 minutes a day, Melissa Hall recommends the following exercises with light weights and a stability ball. Bear in mind that good posture and form are essential.
2) Bicep Curl (with stability ball):

works the arms – to eliminate chicken wings – and core muscles Sit atop the stability ball holding the hand weights at each side with your arms extended parallel to your torso. Palms should be facing forward. Lift the weights slowly, bending at the elbow until your elbows are bent at 90 degrees. Keep you back straight and your shoulders relaxed. Repeat 10-12 times in 3 sets.
3) Squats (with stability ball):

works glutes and thighs Prop your stability ball between your buttocks and a wall with feet at shoulder width. Balancing your weight against the stability ball, slowly bend at the knees until they are at 90-degrees. Then, slowly straighten the legs. Keep your back straight. Repeat 10-12 times in 3 sets.
